I've spent the last couple of hours watching the news, live coverage of the riots in London.
My god, what a bunch of animals. Even if someone, somewhere had a valid point to make, it was lost the moment the mob started smashing windows and attacking coppers.
I don't know if it's just me, but i think that this is people taking any excuse to cause damage to vent their frustrations, and what they're doing is just plain wrong.
Ok, so life is shit right now and the government couldn't juggle a single egg if someone gave them a third hand to do it with, but EVERYONE is dissatisfied right now and you don't see most of us going out and smashing shop windows or hurting people.
You think your life is bad so you go out and attack people and property? What about the people who are losing their businesses, their very livelihoods?
I saw a cab burning on the news. Do the people who set light to it have any idea how much that cost the cabby? Not to mention his licence, insurance etc. No, and nor do they care because they're selfish bastards.
What about the terrified people huddling in their homes, listening to the terror going on outside while they pray that it will pass them by? How would the rioters feel if that was their parents, siblings, grandparents?
Rioters, grow up. Get political if you want, but don't hurt your fellow Londoners.
Get over yourselves.
And my thoughts go out to all the emergency services and other people working to keep things under control and keep the deserving people of London as safe as they can.
Never thought i'd be embarrassed to be British.
Sadly - I think there'll be a lot more to come! A lot of the disruption is just pure thuggery without purpose or reason committed by those without a moral compass. I despair of our society :-(
ReplyDeleteI had a rant on a post somewhere yesterday because she was blaming the government for taking away youth clubs etc. WTF? We never had youth clubs when we were kids. We played footy on the park, big games of hide and seek involving teams etc. All made up stuff that was great. Never once did we think about causing trouble cos we was bored.
ReplyDeleteFor the news to say these people are rioting because of the state of the country is bollocks. Peaceful protests are normally carried out law abiding citizens. I'll bet if you checked the backgrounds of most of the people involved there'd be benefit cheats, criminals, drunks etc, and that would be the parents. What life have their kids got to look forward to?
As punishment, all involved who are caught should be made to give up all their benefits for life. If they're working then their state pension is null and void! They should receive no help from the state at all!!
